National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame Announces 2026 Class of Inductees and 47th Annual Gala
The National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame (NIASHF) is proud to announce its 47th Annual Gala and Induction Ceremony, taking place Friday, November 20, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at The Westin O’Hare in Rosemont, Illinois.
The annual celebration brings together athletes, sports leaders, coaches, broadcasters, business leaders, and members of the Italian American community to honor outstanding accomplishments in the world of sports and celebrate the rich contributions of Italian Americans to athletics.
Welcoming the Class of 2026
This year’s ceremony will officially welcome seven distinguished individuals into the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame as members of the Class of 2026.
The 2026 inductees are:
– Eric Kumerow – NFL first-round draft pick and former Miami Dolphins player
– Nick Caserio, Jr. – General Manager of the Houston Texans
– Tony Amonte – 17-year NHL veteran
– Anthony Granato – NHL player, coach, and Olympic Team member
– James Pitaro – President of ESPN
– Ray Ferraro – NHL All-Star and sports broadcaster
– Matt LaPorta – Cleveland Indians
Honoring Outstanding Achievements
In addition to celebrating the 2026 Hall of Fame inductees, the Gala will recognize two special award recipients whose careers and contributions have made a lasting impact on the sports world and in our community.
Sportsman of the Year: Michael Rendina

Special Guests
The evening will be hosted by two familiar voices from the sports world: Wayne Randazzo, broadcaster for the Los Angeles Angels, and Bobby Valentine, former New York Mets manager, will serve as the Masters of Ceremonies for the evening. Their presence will help lead guests through an exciting night celebrating the accomplishments of this year’s honorees and inductees.
Also joining us are special guests Laura Lasorda and Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini, adding to an extraordinary lineup of Italian American sports personalities!
