Construction on the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame is moving along! Here are some of the latest updates on our building, located at 3417 N. Harlem Ave. Chicago, IL.

As a first step in the NIASHF building development, President Ron Onesti commissioned a vibrant mural on the side of the building. A stunning and inspirational mural, created by Chicago artist Laurynas Buzinskas. Read more about the mural in the Chicago Sun Times article by Genevieve Bookwalter, “Italian American athletes grace sports Hall of Fame mural in Dunning“.
With demo completed, Phase II can begin for the NIASHF Building! During the demo, NIASHF President Ron Onesti was joined by NIASHF board members Eddie Greco and Bill Conforti. Also with them was Alderman Nick Sposato, Adam Lester from our General Contractor from M&J and Roy Paciucca from our financial partner from Wintrust. Additionally, showing their support were members from the Harlem Avenue Little Italy Business Association: Jason Quaglia, Gino Bartucci and Frank DiPaolo.
Phase II of construction has begun! First order of business: the underground plumbing. Another task we can check off of our construction “to-do” list!
Thank you to everyone for their support through this process – More updates will be coming soon!
